A Direct Command
On the day the Church was born, Peter stood up and gave clear instructions to those who wanted to follow Jesus: repent, and be baptized — every one of you — in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins.
That same command has never changed. At Gateway, we baptize by full immersion in the name of Jesus Christ, just as the apostles did throughout the book of Acts. It is one of the most powerful and obedient steps a believer can take.

What Happens When You're Baptized
Baptism is deeply symbolic and spiritually powerful. It's three things at once.
Death to the Old Life
Going under the water represents the death and burial of your old self — your sin, your past, the person you were before Christ.
Burial with Christ
Just as Jesus was buried in the tomb, baptism is a burial of everything that separated you from God. It's a decisive break from the past.
Resurrection to New Life
Coming up out of the water mirrors Christ's resurrection. You rise as a new creation — forgiven, clean, and alive in Him.
On the Day of Your Baptism
